Water Crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo
According to IRIN (IRIN News), approximately 69 percent of urban areas of the DRC receive water from the state water utility, concluding that there are a significant number of citizens not receiving water to their towns and villages. Therefore, these locals would have to find other options to satisfy their water needs. This is because the state water utility does not have the ability to improve its water pumping system due to the lack the funds to undertake the project, even having to resort to using rusty, decaying pipes to pump water to needy areas.
Providing a solution to the masses
Therefore, with the funds provided from “We are water foundation”. A non-profit organisation specialising in developing aid programmes in those areas around the world most affected by the lack of water and sanitation. We came up with a purifying agent that is capable of purifying water in the transport process.
